RJR Props Covid Statement, Policies & Liability:
RJR Props is dedicated to keeping safe and healthy conditions. This is a new virus. Scientists are learning more about it each day. Some things are known about the virus, yet many things are still unknown. As medical professional learn more about the virus, we may add or change our protocols. We have tried to incorporate the latest protocols and sanitizing procedures to provide a safe quality environment for our employees, customers and visitors. We have based these on recommendations by the CDC, State & Federal government guidelines, and various health agencies, and medical studies. To accomplish this, we have created new procedures and practices to sanitize our existing props inventory, and to sanitize incoming prop returns, as well as to keep our staff and visitors safe by utilizing safety & health protocols. We have come up with a multi-faceted system to provide multiple levels of safety and sanitizing to help tackle this new challenge.
PPE & Sanitizing: We require masks to be worn at all times on our premises: this applies to our employees & visitors. If you don’t have a mask, we can provide masks available upon request at all entrances. We also require all employees & visitors to use hand sanitizer upon entering our facility. Hand sanitizer is stationed at all entrances. We have also have gloves, as needed at all entrances. When our employees are packing an order, they follow strict guidelines of wearing PPE, as well as hand sanitizing before & after each order is packed for pickup or shipped. This is to ensure the highest levels of quality.
Health Checks: We have non-contact scanning thermometers located at all entrances to scan employees and visitors as needed. We also have a policy of "feel sick: stay home". That applies to employees and visitors. Anyone who has symptoms will be asked to please stay home, and may get tested as needed. Having a safe environment for employees and visitors is our priority.
Rental Returns: Prop rental returns are processed through our sanitizing system to help provide a good healthy environment for both employees and customers. We treat different props differently based on their composition: cloth, leather, plastic, metal, wood, etc. Each prop is cleaned and sanitized according to its makeup and composition.
Sanitizing: First, we utilize a powerful Hospital Grade disinfectant that is safe to use on almost all props. It has been thoroughly tested both by the manufacturer and independent laboratories, and it is in use in many hospitals. Because of its highly effective properties on many different surfaces, we have selected it. The manufacturer has determined that it is effective to disinfect the Human Coronavirus, HIV, SARS-CoV-2, Hepatitis B & C and many other bacteria and viruses. Here is the technical info on it:
It is a neutral, quaternary ammonium chloride, hospital-grade detergent & disinfectant. It effectively cleans and disinfects surfaces and will not damage most finishes. It controls a broad spectrum of bacteria, fungi, and viruses, including HIV and Human Coronavirus. Per the guidance provided by EPA List N: Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2, this product should be used following the label directions applicable to Human Coronavirus and with a 10-minute contact when using against SARS-CoV-2. Bactericidal - Kills a broad spectrum of both Gram-negative & Gram-positive organisms including Staphyloccus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella choleraesuis, MRSA, E. coli, Listeria monocytoge. Virucidal - Is effective against many viruses including: HIV-1, HIV-2, Hepatitis B & C, Herpes Types 1 & 2, Influenza A2, Rotavirus, Feline Leukemia, and Canine Distemper. Fungicidal & Mildewstat - Kills Athlete’s Foot fungus and controls mildew on hard non-porous surfaces. Neutral pH Cleaner - An effective cleaner & deodorizer that is mild enough to be used on floor finishes. Quickly penetrates and removes blood, excreta, as well as other organic matter. Environmentally Preferable - This product is formulated without phosphates, butyl, or APE surfactants and all the detergents and emulsifiers are completely biodegradable.
Secondary or alternative method: we use a quarantine hold that we will put on certain props. The latest reports from both the Cleveland Clinic and Harvard Medical1,2 show that the virus dies when quarantined on surfaces after 1 to 5 days. Here are the latest timeframes for the virus to die on different surfaces, as per the Cleveland Clinic and Harvard1,2: Glass: 5 days, Wood: 4 days, Plastic & stainless-steel: 3 days, Cardboard: 24 hours, Copper surfaces: 4 hours. With an abundance of caution, we are allowing up to double or triple the recommended quarantine times, to ensure maximum safety, quarantining for up to 10, 15, 20 days or more on certain props. We may also wipe and/or spray the quarantined props for additional sanitizing. Those props may be date tagged to ensure proper sanitizing timlines and identification.
We may take additional steps, or change procedures: at any time without notice, to insure safety and quality. RJR Props LLC reserves the right to modify these protocols as necessary based upon the current CDC guidelines, and the guidelines of other health organizations. Some things are known about the virus, yet many things are still unknown. We have tried to put protocols and procedures in place to try to give the very best quality we can.
When the props leave our premises: RJR Props is no longer responsible for the props after they leave our premises. The safe-keeping, cleanliness and proper sanitizing of the props are the responsibility & liability of the Production who is renting them (or in some cases, buying them). The Renter (or the Renting Production) is also responsible for properly sanitizing the props before the props are returned to RJR Props LLC.

RJR Props LLC, its owners, principles, parent company, and its affiliates are NOT liable or responsible in any way for preventing the spread or transmission of Covid, or for the injury or death of anyone contracting it. RJR Props LLC and it's affiliates, principles, parent company and owners assume no liability whatsoever, including but not limited to the quality and merchantibility of the props.
